EMDR Therapy

At Lighter Minds Counseling, we believe in keeping our community healthy, which is why we’re committed to exceeding the expectations of our patients with innovative services. We are trained in providing EMDR, which focuses on reducing elevated emotional responses to trauma. This intervention can also be helpful in addressing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and aid with preventing PTSD.

Group Therapy and Skills Groups

Our group therapy and skill-building services provide supportive, structured environments for individuals to connect, learn, and grow alongside others with similar experiences. We offer specialized groups for adolescents, parents, and individuals coping with anxiety or depression, each designed to foster emotional resilience, healthy communication, and practical coping strategies.

Adolescent groups focus on social skills, emotional regulation, and self-esteem, while parent groups provide tools for effective parenting, stress management, and family connection. Our anxiety and depression groups offer evidence-based techniques such as CBT and mindfulness to reduce symptoms, build confidence, and improve overall well-being. Each group is led by experienced clinicians in a safe, inclusive setting that encourages progress and healing.

Skill Building and Case Management

Peer Support Services
Peer support services are provided by individuals with lived experience of mental health or substance use challenges. These trained peer specialists offer emotional support, encouragement, and guidance based on shared experiences. Peer support helps build trust, reduce stigma, and empower individuals to take an active role in their recovery.

Case Management Services
Case management services involve coordinating care and support for individuals facing complex mental health or life challenges. Case managers help clients access resources such as housing, healthcare, employment, and community services. They work collaboratively with clients to create and follow through on personalized care plans that support long-term stability and wellness.

Life Coaching

Life Coaching
Life coaching is a collaborative, goal-oriented process that helps individuals identify their strengths, clarify their values, and create actionable steps toward personal or professional growth. A life coach provides guidance, accountability, and encouragement to support clients in building confidence, improving performance, and reaching meaningful goals.

How Life Coaching Differs from Therapy
While both life coaching and therapy focus on helping individuals improve their lives, they serve different purposes. Therapy is designed to address mental health concerns, process past experiences, and provide treatment for emotional or psychological challenges. Life coaching, on the other hand, is future-focused and does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. Instead, it emphasizes personal development, goal achievement, and practical strategies for creating the life a client desires.
